They’ve Gone Viral // Smash Burger Tacos!! Step by Step ❤️

If you can’t decide between a juicy burger or a loaded taco, this recipe brings you the best of both worlds. These smash burger tacos are crispy, cheesy, and packed with all your favorite burger toppings—wrapped in a warm tortilla instead of a bun. They’re fun to make, incredibly satisfying, and perfect for weekends when you want something quick but seriously delicious.

Ingredients (for 2–3 servings)

  • 500g (about 1 lb) ground beef (85/15 recommended)
  • 6 small flour tortillas (or your preferred type)
  • 1½ cups shredded cheese (Colby Jack or cheddar)
  • 4–5 slices cooked bacon, chopped

For the sauce:

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons dill relish
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Toppings:

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Diced onions
  • Sliced avocado (optional)

Instructions
Start by making the sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and mustard until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the rest.

Divide the ground beef into 6 equal portions and roll them into balls. Season each one with salt, pepper, or your favorite seasoning blend.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place a tortilla on the hot surface, then put one portion of beef on top. Press it down firmly so the meat spreads thin across the tortilla—this creates that signature “smash” texture.

Cook for about 1½ to 2 minutes until the meat develops a nice crust. Flip the tortilla so the meat side is facing up, then immediately sprinkle cheese over the hot meat.

Cover briefly to melt the cheese, cooking for another minute or so until everything is fully cooked and the tortilla is slightly crisp.

Remove from the heat and fold gently into a taco shape.

Add a spoonful of the prepared sauce on top, followed by lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bacon, and avocado if using.

Serve immediately while hot and enjoy.

Notes & Tips

  • Press the meat thin so it cooks quickly and gets a crispy edge.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan—cook in batches if needed.
  • You can swap tortillas for low-carb or gluten-free versions if preferred.
  • These are meant to be a little messy—that’s part of the fun.

Give these a try and make them your own with your favorite toppings. They’re quick, bold, and guaranteed to be a hit at the table.
