APPLE FRITTERS | Easy, Amazing,Delicious!! 🍎❤️

These apple fritters are the kind of treat that instantly brings back memories of cozy bakeries and childhood trips to the donut shop. Golden on the outside, soft on the inside, and filled with tender cinnamon-spiced apples, they’re comforting, nostalgic, and surprisingly easy to make at home. Using simple pantry ingredients, this recipe is perfect for sharing with family and friends—or enjoying with a cup of coffee while they’re still warm.

Ingredients

Apple filling

  • 2 Honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored, and finely diced

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Batter

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 1/2 tablespoons sugar

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup milk (add a little more if needed)

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled

For frying

  • Canola oil, for frying

Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup milk (use less for a thicker glaze)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
Start by preparing the apples. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then add the diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon. Cook for a few minutes until the apples soften slightly but still hold their shape. Stir in the vanilla, remove from heat, and set aside to cool.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, vanilla, milk, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Gently fold in the cooled apples.

Heat about two inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F. Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, working in small batches. Fry for a few minutes per side until the fritters are golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

To make the glaze, whisk the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. While the fritters are still warm, drizzle or dip them into the glaze. Let it set for a few minutes before serving.

Notes or Tips

  • Keep the oil temperature steady so the fritters cook through without burning

  • Smaller spoonfuls fry more evenly and are easier to handle

  • Honeycrisp apples are great, but Granny Smith or Fuji work well too

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the glaze

  • These are best enjoyed fresh, but can be reheated briefly in the oven
