Instructions
1. Cook the Beef
Brown the ground chuck over medium heat until no longer pink.
Drain excess fat completely and set the meat aside.
2. Sauté the Vegetables
In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper. Sauté until soft.
Add the mushrooms and continue cooking until tender and lightly browned.
3. Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
4. Simmer
Pour the sauce into the pan with the vegetables.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes.
5. Combine
Return the cooked ground beef to the pan and stir well.
Add the diced provolone and shredded cheddar cheese.
Cover and let the cheese melt gently without over-stirring.
6. Assemble
Lightly brush the hamburger buns with melted butter.
Spoon the cheesy beef mixture generously onto the buns.
