Ingredients
For the Berry Jalapeño Syrup
- 1/2 cup strawberries
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 1/2 cup blackberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 large jalapeño, sliced with seeds
For the Margaritas
- 3/4 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur
- 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup berry jalapeño syrup
- Ice cubes
For Garnish
- Lime slices
- Fresh berries
- Jalapeño slices
- Kosher salt or sugar for the rim
Instructions
Start by making the berry syrup. Add the water, sugar, and sliced jalapeños to a saucepan over medium heat.
Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for about 10 minutes so the jalapeño flavor infuses into the syrup.
Remove the jalapeño slices carefully.
Add all the berries to the saucepan and simmer gently for 4–5 minutes until softened and juicy.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then transfer it to a blender and blend until smooth.
Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass. Dip the rim into kosher salt or sugar.
Fill the glasses halfway with ice. Add a few lime slices, berries, and jalapeño slices for garnish.
In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, berry syrup, and a handful of ice.
Shake well until chilled.
Pour the margarita mixture into the prepared glasses.
Top with extra berries or lime slices if desired and serve immediately.

- Adjust the jalapeño amount depending on how spicy you like your drinks.

- Frozen berries work well if fresh berries are unavailable.
- A good-quality tequila makes a big difference in flavor.
- You can make the syrup ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for several days.
